The food was good. When searching for Nigerian it brought this up. However, it’s Ghana so similar profile. The restaurant opened up 15 minutes late I was seeing in the car looking for a different place but was glad when I saw them open. I’ll go back and this time try something else.

Hello, Yendidi Leadership, Thank you for introducing Hampton Roads to the rich and diverse flavors of West African cuisine. I’ve become a regular visitor to Yendidi, both because I genuinely enjoy the food and because my work as a food media professional and culinary and nutrition educator allows me to introduce others to cuisines they may not have experienced before. I wanted to share some feedback regarding the egusi soup. I visited last night with a friend who was trying Ghanaian cuisine for the first time, and unfortunately, the soup was extremely salty and difficult for us to eat. Your manager was gracious enough to offer a replacement, which I appreciated and accepted. I took the second order home, but unfortunately, it was still too salty for my palate. As a culinary and nutrition educator, I would encourage the kitchen team to revisit the amount of salt used in the recipe and taste the soup before it leaves the kitchen. I would also suggest having salt shakers available at the tables so guests can adjust seasoning to their personal preference. Reducing the salt would allow the beautiful flavors of the egusi, spices, and other ingredients to shine while also making the d

The service and atmosphere were amazing, but the food was just okay for the price. I'm not sure if it was an off day, but the stews mostly came in two flavors: brown gravy and tomato. I tried both, and the tomato one was definitely better, even if a little salty. The brown gravy needs some work. The sides were on point though. Portions were good, just the right amount. I enjoyed it and think it's worth checking out if you like or would love to try African-style food!

I placed an order for pick up. Very simple yam chips and the puff puffs. I did not receive the yam chips, instead I got 2 bags of plantain chips. When I went back in the store, I was told they don’t offer that in this store and the acting person in charge, Jayda (at least the name she provided) said she could not offer a refund because it was an online order. It was ordered thru Yendidi’s/toast site and there is no option to receive a refund thru the site. On top of that, the one thing I received that I actually ordered, The Bofrot, was burned. I wanted to speak with someone high, but Apparently the owners are in Ghana and are unreachable. I’ve ordered from the Norfolk store before and have had items missing, but not quality issues. It was such a simple order and it was messed up, I can’t imagine how they send out actual meal orders. Would not recommend anyone to waste money on this location and definitely recommend checking your food before walking out if placing to go.

I came in the door and the staff greeted me (Barbra) with love. She wanted to help me because I could barely walk. The atmosphere was very comfortable and classy. It gave me a stress free environment feeling. I ordered the mackerel egusi soup with plantain fufu and sautΓ©ed mix vegetables. Now other then the bones from the mackerel EVERY THING WAS AMAZING!! I was taking out but I SAID LET ME TASTE IT AND I ATE HALF OF THE FOOD BEFORE I COULD LEAVE! I will be coming back with my CREW!!! They have setups for a live band and they have a Dj. The music was good and friendly! One of my favorites!!!
